UPT Vector/Sigma Tandem Instructor Rating
Requirements
Required Materials
UPT Sigma Manual
You will need the UPT Sigma Manual. We recommend you print these manuals from United Parachute Technologies website prior to the course.
UPT Sigma Test
The Sigma Test is also available on UPT’s site. You must have this test complete prior to arrival to the course. Answer the test on separate paper as you will need several lines for some answers.
The Course
Our tandem rating course typically takes 2-3 days, weather permitting. The course structure is as follows:
1 Classroom Day
The class starts with verification of the requirements.
5 Evaluation Jumps
You will make 5 evaluation tandem jumps with a TRC Examiner.
5 Additional Tandem Jumps
After the initial 5 course evaluation jumps you need to make 5 additional tandem jumps with an experienced jumper who has at least 100 jumps. The Ratings Center provides our Evaluators and Examiners for these jumps to better prepare you for “real world” tandems.
Cross-Training
If you would like to cross-train for another manufacturer’s tandem system please contact us.
